"Great classic diner fare with flair. Friendly staff with a down-home diner atmosphere. Update: you have to try the hot chocolate, and the Chef's Special Corned Beef Hash! Uodate: Got their hot chocolate today (Dec. 6), and it came with a gummy gingerbread man!"

"I got the Kings Meal and it was absolutely delicious. Large portions especially for the price. Service was good but didn't get any refills during our meal and our server was a little standoffish. I know people have bad days, we will be going back to try more menu items and I'll update my review then."

"Food is delicious and plentiful. We will easily get 2 to 4 meals from each of our dishes. Everything is homemade. Salad bar has plenty of choices for salad toppers and has apple sauce, pudding, fruit, and a couple of pasta salads and coleslaw. They also have homemade pie. I didn't see it on the menu but asked at checkout. Today there was coconut cream and it looked like apple. We were too full for dessert today, but next time I will leave room."

"I have been coming to Madison family restaurant for about a year now. This place is amazing. The food is wonderful. The portions are big. The staff is wonderful. I feel like home over here and I'm treated like family. Highly recommended. And all of this wonderfulness is based on the ownership of the restaurant."

"Visited for breakfast, seated promptly. Restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. Our server wasn't very friendly, took our orders, which we have ordered before with no issues, my husband asked for gluten free bread bc he has to eat gluten free and she informed my husband of the up charge for gluten free bread. She later returned to let us know she couldn't find the gluten free bread and asked if my husband wanted other bread, obviously no because he has to eat gluten free as stated before. Our food arrives and his skillet was made with breaded chicken, we informed her of this and she was adamant that it always comes with breaded chicken, to which we explained he's ordered this before and never had an issue, she said they'll remake it with grilled chicken. We get the bill and find that we were still charged for the gluten free bread that we never received and there was a mysterious $3.99 charge. We asked and she told us she forgot to take the gluten free bread off and the additional charge is for the grilled chicken. I was taken back by the charge because she had no issue telling us gluten free bread was extra but never disclosed that the grilled chicken is extra. I pointed out the issues and asked why we were being charged so much extra when his meal originally was supposed to include chicken but she stood by the charge. There were so many things that could be improved for her service. 1- we asked for gluten free bread and specified he has to eat gluten free, why ask if wanted other bread when the gf option was not available and why wouldn't you say that the skillet he ordered comes with breaded chicken? The menu just says "chicken" where other options specify "breaded chicken". 2- inform your customers of all charges, don't surprise them at the end. 3- be friendly, smile, and provide good customer service. You could have simply taken the charge off to retain a customer but maybe that doesn't matter to you guys."

"This restaurant is 100% the best restaurant in Lake county along with their other restaurant Stanis Family Restaurant! but sidorela and toni are the best! they have the best staff too! always hard working and very attentive and joyful! And Bravo to Sidorela ffor running for school board while having two restaurant and 3 kiddos! We love you guys!"
